THE NEW MANGUSTA GRANSPORT 50 MAKES ITS DEBUT AT THE PALM BEACH INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW

Less than a month after the launch of the Mangusta GranSport 38, Mangusta is back in the international spotlight with a new model set to further expand the range.

The Palm Beach International Boat Show offered the perfect stage for the Italian shipbuilder to unveil the Mangusta GranSport 50. This model opens up an entirely new design dimension, taking the concept of Sport Utility Yacht to its fullest expression, in a visionary synthesis of sportiness, generous volumes, and comfortable long-range cruising.

The shipyard’s Engineering Department, engineer Ausonio of P.L.A.N.A. Design - who oversaw naval architecture - and designer Alberto Mancini teamed up to create the new Mangusta GranSport 50 starting from a very clear vision: to create an unprecedented balance between performances and onboard comfort. Not merely an evolution of the range, but a real design metamorphosis.
Embodying the concept of “half more… unlock boundless freedom”, this yacht transcends traditional boundaries, both literally, through its huge volumes, and metaphorically, redefining the entire yachting experience.

An unwavering pursuit of the perfect alchemy of adrenaline and comfort has resulted in the Mangusta GranSport 50, a vessel that combines the rebellious spirit of a sporty yacht with the stateliness of a large displacement vessel.

As Maurizio Balducci, CEO of Overmarine Group, explains “The Mangusta GranSport 50 has everything one expects of a Mangusta yacht: a highly recognizable sporty profile that embraces generous, stylishly harmonised interiors and exteriors, in an engineering feat that combines high speed, fuel efficiency, and unmatched comfort with trans-oceanic range”.

VERTICALITY FOR A NEW OUTLOOK

The design revolution brought about by the Mangusta GranSport 50 stems from a specific architectural and engineering challenge: to elevate perspective through a layout developing over three and a half decks and a Raised Pilot House (RPH) – an absolute first for a yacht of this kind. The pilot house has indeed been raised and integrated into the vessel’s aerodynamic profile, like a futuristic fairing that naturally blends into the sporty superstructure.
“The inspiration behind the Mangusta GranSport 50 is equally simple and revolutionary: to offer ‘1/2 more' - half a deck more. The Raised Pilot House changes everything: we wanted to free up the upper deck by envisaging new configurations that would radically redefine the onboard experience and create spaces to live, and not just to walk through. On this vessel, the sea doesn’t simply surround you; it also stretches out right in front of you” explains Stefano Arlunno, President of Mangusta Americas, who directly oversaw the design process.
The result is a yacht on which every deck offers a different view of the sea.

BOUNDLESS TRANSPARENCY

The exterior design of the Mangusta GranSport 50 bears the signature of Alberto Mancini, who was called upon to reinterpret the sporty features of the Mangusta GranSport range in a more contemporary style.
The yacht's silhouette remains sleek and muscular, but introduces a new sense of visual lightness thanks to the extensive use of glass. The full-glazing philosophy has turned the sides of the vessel into transparent surfaces, and, for the first time ever, the iconic fashion plates are now frameless; side inserts in Grigio Europa glass create a refined interplay of shadows and reflections.
All these elements contribute to creating a cohesive ensemble of elegance and sporty character, ensuring maximum privacy from the outside and a seamless visual continuity from the inside.
“With the Mangusta GranSport 50, we wanted to take the onboard experience to the next level while also preserving the brand’s DNA,” comments Alberto Mancini, Yacht Designer.

“Today, true luxury means space flexibility, brightness, and freedom this yacht embodies them
all”
.

ARCHITECTURE OF LIGHT
The interiors, also pencilled by Alberto Mancini, are pervaded by a natural sense of openness, where all visual barriers between the interior perimeter and the horizon have been removed and every design detail echoes the soft elegance of the exterior lines.

THE ART OF LIVING THE SEA
On the Mangusta GranSport 50, every deck has been designed to offer a different interpretation of onboard life, transforming the yacht into a smooth succession of complementary spaces that converge into one focal point: the sea.

Devised as an ‘elevated escape’, the Sun Deck is an exclusive terrace fully integrated into the yacht’s sporty lines, where guests can take in all the beauty of a 360-degree view.

The Upper Deck-and-A-Half is the cornerstone of the project. This is where the new Raised Pilot House has been arranged, to offer an elevated command position that ensures the best possible visibility when cruising.

Moving the pilot house to the upper deck has made it possible to free up space and maximise the potential of the forward area, which now features the signature infinity pool and a panoramic lounge.

The celebrated Mangusta infinity pool has been restyled on this yacht to become the core element on this deck. Its minimalist design ideally extends the line of the sea, and the lounge has been thought out to offer the perfect ambience to savour every moment spent onboard: from the warm shades of dawn to long, relaxing afternoons immersed in pleasant conversations, from cruising with a view to magic starry nights.

Thanks to a range of pre-engineered configurations which the Owner can choose from during the design phase, the lounge area can instead accommodate a sixth panoramic cabin bathed in natural light or in the ultimate expression of this concept a family lounge/office overlooking the bow and the infinity pool, thereby officially making the entire level the Owner's private deck.

Regardless of the chosen layout, this new area offers an unprecedented vantage point, a view normally reserved for the pilot bridge, which can now be enjoyed exclusively by the Owner and their guests.

On the Main Deck, light takes centre stage. With the galley moved to the lower deck, the entire main deck is now dedicated to the Owner. The full-beam Master Suite has large glazed surfaces and, as an optional extra, can be fitted with an automatically-operated balcony.

With a view to maximising functionality, the bow hosts an integrated garage opening on the side, large enough to store a 6.3-metre tender and two jet skis. In this way, the stern is completely free to become the throbbing heart of conviviality, always in direct contact with the sea.

It is just at the stern that one of the most distinctive stylistic elements of the new model (and the new family feel of the restyled Mangusta range) takes shape: the spectacular central staircase connecting the main cockpit to the aft platform - a true stairway to the sea. The two curved side wings, sculpted in the profile like the doors of a supercar, open up to reveal an exclusive beach club that can be converted into a private lounge on the water or a panoramic gym overlooking the sea. The sun loungers integrated in the transom build on an architectural concept already introduced in the Mangusta GranSport 38, which has further evolved on this model, making the relationship between the yacht and its natural element—water—even stronger.

LUXURY LIVING, MADE PERSONAL

The new Mangusta GranSport 50 can accommodate up to 12 guests in 5 cabins, with 9 crew members in 5 dedicated cabins.

As in every Mangusta project, the brand's bespoke approach places the Owner at the heart of the creative process: from layout definition to the selection of materials and finishes, every yacht comes to life through a constant dialogue between the shipyard and the Owner, so as to forge a personal, unique vision of life at sea.

This vessel is equipped with two 2,600 HP MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines and can deliver a top speed of approximately 20 knots, a cruising speed of 16 knots, and a range of up to 4,200 nautical miles.
